Overview & format
Three-day international tournament from 5–7 November 2027. Final match schedule and competition format will be communicated once the tournament program is confirmed. Training focuses on team organisation, tactical and positional understanding, attacking and defensive principles, game management, set pieces and team chemistry. Pre-tour training in Australia prepares players technically, tactically, physically and mentally. Different Players → One Team → One Identity.
18-player U17 boys squad and 2 coaching staff, bringing together players from different clubs to represent NextGen Australia with pride.

Accommodation & meals
8 nights at Carvoeiro Garden Hotel in Carvoeiro, Portugal's Algarve region, with full-board meals — breakfast, lunch and dinner. A base for recovery, team bonding and planned group activities. Swimming pool access is subject to hotel rules and operating hours.
Flights & transfers
International flights to and from Portugal are excluded and must be arranged separately by each player and their family. Coordinate flight dates with NextGen Australia. Return transfers between Faro Airport and the accommodation and scheduled group transport to football venues are included. Final travel schedules and transport arrangements will be communicated to families.
Eligibility & selection
U17 boys must be born on or after 1 January 2011. Players are assessed on technical ability, tactical understanding, game intelligence, positional requirements, physical readiness, attitude, coachability, commitment, teamwork, communication and adaptability. Register your interest, complete a player assessment and, if selected, receive a squad offer subject to registration and participation arrangements. Families then receive preparation, teamwear and travel details. Preferred jersey names, numbers, sizing and final designs are confirmed once the squad is established.
